A Splash of Color!

We love color and this artist-inspired Bat Mitzvah was such a fun and creative project for our team at Bank Street Events.

As with most events at bank street the main level is left for the kids to takeover, while the adults are catered to on our mezzanine level. Our design incorporated two main elements: a playful and whimsical spin for kids and a sophisticated and elegant energy for the adults.

Kids Decor

On the main floor, we brought giant art elements to life with a display of oversized paint brushes and painters’ pallets. Accompanying these traditional art elements were ‘floating’ brushes in bright colors, bringing the art of painting to life on the mantle that served as a backdrop for the dance floor. Our vault was transformed into a studio, with paint splatters adorning the walls and cubbies that held the custom embroidered giveaways for the kids.

Hanging Lanterns

We were challenged with connecting the design on the mezzanine to the main level and this allowed us to use similar colors and textures in a completely different way. Above the dance floor, and mezzanine, hung over sized white lanterns that had been splattered with pink, yellow and teal paint which helped connect the playful floor below to the elegant dinner taking place upstairs.

Adult Decor

In our boardroom adults enjoyed cocktails and light bites before being introduced to the mezzanine for dinner. In paying homage to an artist’s pallet, each adult dining table was adorned with beautiful monochromatic arrangements of fresh flowers. Yellow, green and pink bunches lined the tables in white paint splattered cans. Custom painted miniature canvases with a whimsical calligraphy served as escor cards and the table numbers, and a bright pop of teal with the napkins finished the tablescape.

Every detail added a big pop of color to this creative celebration, making it any artists dream! We had an amazing experience painting this picture for our client and hope that we've inspired the inner artist in each of you too!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentines Day!

Making Valentine’s Day dinner for your special someone? Here is an idea for a simple, three-course dinner you can make at home!

Start with a colorful salad - we suggest this baby spinach salad with pomegranate seeds, sliced pear, and goat cheese, drizzled with sherry vinaigrette. Love this pop of red! For the second course, we highly recommend a grilled lamb chop with sauteed peas, fingerling potatoes, finished with a drizzle of olive oil, a squeeze of lemon, a pinch of salt and pepper, fresh or dried oregano, and a sprig of rosemary for garnish.

Chocolate-covered strawberries are an easy and elegant dessert to finish your meal. You need a carton of strawberries (rinsed, dried, and chilled until firm), dark chocolate melting chips, and white chocolate chips. You can melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl for about 45 seconds in the microwave - stir and repeat until fully melted. Dip the strawberries in the dark chocolate and set aside on parchment paper. Chill the strawberries for 15 minutes before using a spoon to drizzle the melted white chocolate over the strawberries. Chill once more before enjoying.

Throw some fresh flowers and a few candles on the table and you’ve got yourself a beautiful candle-lit dinner for two (or more) !

Our team doesn’t only specialize in weddings… we can help plan all of the special celebrations leading up to them too! We had the pleasure of designing and catering this garden bridal shower, in a private residence in Fairfield County. Now what says bridal shower elegance more than fresh flowers and simple décor?  We put together this post to show you all of the amazing details that our team put together to give this shower a beautiful, personal touch.

We designed custom signage to match the cups and napkins provided by our client. These items add a really special touch to the celebration! The personalized cups were the perfect vessel for our signature cocktail – triple berry rosé sangria. We sent the bride to be home with all of the extras that weren’t used – which she can use in the coming months as she approaches her big day!

Because it was a hot summer day we focused on fresh, colorful food that could be enjoyed on the patio under the sun. We featured a rainbow of grilled veggies, heirloom tomato and cucumber salad with fresh mozzarella, feta and watermelon salad with arugula, wild rice pilaf with dried golden raisins and fresh spring onions, grilled chicken, and lemon and caper salmon. We used simple garden greens to decorate the table which really helped to tie in her garden theme.

No shower is complete without some sweet treats to enjoy while the bride opens her gifts! Fresh strawberries dipped in delicious dark chocolate along with decadent Baked By Melissa cupcakes – a favorite sweet snack for the bride to be.

When we found out that we would be hosting the shower outside, we immediately knew that we would find our inspiration from the beautiful garden our clients home offers. Using delicate seeded eucalyptus and a matching green ribbon, we accented each place setting with a beautifully tied napkin. Lucky for us, our client had an amazing set of purple goblets, which served as perfect water glasses! The floral arrangements included all white flowers – garden roses, hydrangeas, lisianthus, ranunculus, anemone, and of course some more eucalyptus as the final touch of green. These flowers together created a whimsical garden feel and looked so beautiful!

We hope you loved our vision for this event!

A simple, cute, delicious way to say thank you!  What’s better than a great giveaway!?  Whether it be for a party, teacher appreciation day or a corporate gathering, your guests will walk away smiling with this yummy treat!

To start off…just pop up a bunch of buttery popcorn.

Next, melt some chocolate chips in a large pot until smooth and creamy.

So simple and easy!  Place the popcorn on a large sheet pan in a single layer.  Then grab a spatula and carefully drizzle melted chocolate over the popcorn.  Refrigerate for just a few minutes to harden the chocolate.

Once the chocolate is hardened, crumble gently with your hands.  We bought mini clear plastic bags to put our popcorn in.  You can decorate the bag any way you like.  We kept it simple and elegant with a logo sticker on it for this events giveaway!
